Rain Stories

Rain on the Ninth Day

A strange coincidence on the 9th day of the semester.

I love rainy days. I find them romantic. How many romantic films and romantic comedies have a scene where the couple kisses or professes their love in the rain? Even my own husband proposed to me in the rain because I told him I thought kissing in the rain was romantic. Teaching elementary school almost made me hate rainy days. The kids are trapped inside all day, and often the teachers don’t get more than a bathroom brea...

1 Rain pouring from the sky washes away my sins and my fears. It brings a peace I have not felt for so long, lost in time and yet never forgotten. 2 Dark skies without the sun in sight, how so many feel so depressed and tired. But I stand strong through it all as this is only the dark before the morning. 3 A gift we take for granted shining every day illuminating the earth and bringing warmth. How easily we forget our own...

A beautiful morning with Flowers blossom all over. The singing of bird It was a sign arrival of someone. Very unusual, it started raining Heavily with lightning To meet someone, felt the heart An angel very close to heart. Standing in front, I saw her A true angel as heart felts. Not of rain, it was Lightning in the heart, as it melts.

Much needed rainclears my head I walk smiling.Watch faces trip peopleI love the rainI bounce happily. Standing at the bus stop,I see the cutest thing:A little girl, no more than five years old. Her mum looking miserablethe girl with a big smilejumping in the puddles.Simple pleasures,we often overlookI love the rain.

Celestial Siblings

A poem I wrote for my nephew...

The starless Sky prepares for a celebration;Gathering the Clouds, her children - with boundless jubilation. She paints them all in black and grey; And lets them all, have fun and play.Of them, the 'Gentle'; they dance a Heavenly dance; But the 'Fierce'; they just wrestle with their mighty hands. That's when I crash the party, pure and blinding white;Turning the night into disco day, flashing and burning bright.I strike and si...

I'm listening to the rain,As it falls outside my window. The water splashes on the pane, like a song of the sky. It's nights like this I think through life,And tonight I wonder why it's so hard. There's been so much pain and strife,I wonder what I did to cause it?What did I do to make you hurt me?What can I do to make it stop? The tears fall till I can not see,And in the haze I wonder,What if it wasn't me?

Spring Desert

Spring in a desert can be more beautiful than one might believe...

Everything is dead or dying, My brother tells me. There isnothing alive and green.I run to the window and show hima beauty like none elsewhere but here.Look, I tell him pointing, the bushes areboldly green. Wild do they grow, and so carefree. Can't you see, brother?Even the desert can be green.Green it may be, he says, but alive it is not.See how the center is brown and gone? That is not alive. That is gone. A lizard races...

Thoughts on 11 22 63

We will always wonder what might have been.

It rained that morning in Dealy Plaza But the sun was out by noon. How different things might have been Had that man not died too soon. If only the roof had still been on That car the fateful day, Things might have been so different With a car top in the way. But fate laughs at our dreams; Our plans are but for naught. And what matter who fired the bullet? What matters is that it caught. How different things might have be...

The soft pitter-patter of rain sounded on the roof. Water leaked everywhere soaking everything. A poorly repaired roof, filled with holes and I calculated every location of each to fix. The constant dripping annoyed me, breaking my concentration every time a drop hit me. The dog lay beside me, its head on my lap. I stroked the soft fur and waited for Ronan to uphold his promise. I barely felt the ache in my limbs now. Mov...

Rain

Let the rain wash your misdeeds away

Rain From the distance a rumble.. Then a crash of electrical colour. Darkened skies, wind whipping thru trees. One drop the size of a dime then a quarter. Close the windows, and put a log on the fire. Time to reflect and relax from a hard day. Your life as you have lived it, good and bad. Bless the Lord for his rain washes away your misdeeds. The time you walked by the man with an empty stomach, tattered clothes, did you...

A bead of water rolls down the pane Logs roll byFive trucks in a rowOne letting his exhaust brake belchTrees line the highwayWaving branches like a cheering crowd at a raceCelebrating the exhaust brake's belch more ecstatically More beads roll down the windowA boy in an orange reflective vest runs to the pumpHe slouches against the rain until he's under the roofHe talks to a man inside the car and starts pumping the gasLa...

A Poem, Created on a Bus

Just random thoughts, set out in a semi poetic manner

This poem will be short,  As I am with inspiration, Sat here on a bus, I wonder... Why did I say ON a bus and not IN, After all, I'm technically indoors. Ambulating, or more accurately, sitting. I watch the world go by, Listen to music, Lust after the cute girl opposite me, See the rain, smile and sing, sometimes out loud. I'm happy. The girl is cute, but gimmie my Kitten any day. Here's the love part of the poem: I love...

It's playing beautiful music, for you,oh for you, only for you, hear it?You don't have to share this music,no one else will ever hear it, this rain music, you make it,whatever you hear, whatever you feel,it's reflected in this music, played just for you, sprinkled upon this roof.

Rainy Day interlude

Romantic thoughts on a rainy day

Sheets of rain Pound onto My window panes. The hard splattering Of water Keeps me In bed, Dreaming of My lover. He's lying Next to me In the embrace That only Lovers know. We make small talk About how much We love each otherAs the rainHit the roofOf our Love nest. The rain poursAll day longThe clouds partMaking wayFor a Starry night.
