Here I be. It's me. Squee. I'm known as Andrew, among other names. I'm here just to share thoughts and just have a bit of fun, really. I'm kinda at a loss, what should I say? I'll let my writing speak for itself. Some of it is me controlling the words, bending them to my will, some just completely whatever flies from my fingertips and sometimes it controls me, win lose or draw, it's mine, crappy or not. I have a tendency to make up words, by the way. I'm here to just share ponderings and such. Also to read, I have it on good authority that there are some pretty good authors here.
Note on my username, if you're curious: I was listening to a song called Crop Circles when creating my account here and my favourite line is "The crop circles are talking to me (circle something, circle something)" it stuck in my mind and I just had to use it. It raised a smile for me, anyway.
Slight note about my writing style: Here is where I'll likely write with the two extremes of my personality. The first being happy things: love, longing, want, crazy, silly ramblings (mostly that). The other is slightly more dark, but surfaces on occasion: fear, loss, desperation. Dark stuff. We all have it and sometimes it just has to have a vessel. Also, I write the way I talk. You'll see stuff that you won't in "classical English", but that's just my voice.
InterestsPlaying with words, listening to music and trying (not that hard, though) to play along with it, eating food, drinking alcohol, drinking tea and really just generally being a cool Kitty. Let's not forget that I love playing with electronics as well. I always have some project on the go, electronics, prose or otherwise. I have a very silly side, some may say eccentric, get to know me, I'm sure we'll get along well, I'm friendly and only bite if you want me to
Favorite BooksBooks that make me feel: by Vladimir Nabokov, Most Stephen King things, Homicidal Psycho Jungle Cat by Bill Watterson (actually any Calvin and Hobbes comic). I'm such a big kid at heart. I really like The Bald Twit Lion by Spike Milligan as well. It's the fusion of adult humour and childish innocence that does it for me. I have the utmost respect for Spike Milligan.
Favorite AuthorsSpike Milligan, Vladimir Nabokov, Stephen King, Bill Watterson, H.P Lovecraft, Edgar Allan Poe, Joss Whedon (I'm a total Buffy fiend, so don't be surprised if I quote or reference it.)
Favorite MoviesSaw, The Vengeance Trilogy, Snatch, Fried Green Tomatoes At The Whistlestop Cafe, Moulin Rouge!, Scooby Doo and The Witch's Ghost, Scooby Doo on Zombie Island, Disney's Aladdin Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With me, Blue Velvet... too many more to mention, really. You'll notice that I like really dark things and really not so dark things. I'm a man of extremes and those two extremes appeal to me.
Favorite MusicBands I listen to most often: Metallica, Slipknot, Slayer, Queen, Megadeth, Lacuna Coil, Alestorm... Again, the list could go on forever. Mostly heavy metal and hard rock, with a bit of catchy pop, some rap, classical, blues... I just love music, really, I'm as fervent about it as I am about reading and writing.
