Rain
From the distance a rumble..
Then a crash of electrical colour.
Darkened skies, wind whipping thru trees.
One drop the size of a dime then a quarter.
Close the windows, and put a log on the fire.
Time to reflect and relax from a hard day.
Your life as you have lived it, good and bad.
Bless the Lord for his rain washes away your misdeeds.
The time you walked by the man with an empty stomach,
tattered clothes, did you see him?
Really see him as a man, or more of the trouble on the streets.
Or laughing at the "heavy" girl new in school, did you stop and talk?
Let the rain wash your misdeeds.
Put another log on the fire.
As the rain turns to a downpour.
Parker tilts an ear as the rain flows from the downspouts.
Bless the Lord for you remember the good too.
Stopping and giving a ride to the older lady walking in the 100 degree heat.
Gathering food and litter for the local shelter.
For tomorrow the sun will shine.
A wondrous rainbow for all to see.
Be a better citizen than before.
Bless the Lord for he brought the rains.
To wash away your misdeeds once more.
