Kneehigh to an Indiana Jigger

Only birds tweeted and their tweets were longer than a hundred and forty characters.

Kneehigh to an Indiana Jigger(Raanana, January 19, 2018) When I was kneehigh to an Indiana jiggerOnly birds tweeted and their tweets were longerThan a hundred and forty characters,Posts came in and went out tin boxesWith rounded roofs and red metal flagsThat notified you when you had mail,And when you shared somethingIt got divided among those you shared it withInstead of getting multiplied by infinity.I'm not saying time...

May We Share

It was all she ever wanted

They were on their way home to their brownstone in the Lower East Side. Walking together in the chill, abundant, evening air while wet fluffy flakes fell. She stopped, turned, and smiled up at him with nostalgic eyes. "What is it?" Droplets of precipitation stuck to the umbrella he had in his hand. Holding it up and over the two of them. Sniffing the clean refreshed air he head tilted at her. Then leaning down to kiss her...

Memories everywhere. I used to try and put them away or keep them safe, Not sharing. Such a part of me. Making me who I am. What my life has become. Doesn't mean I can't make new ones. I can share them all.   Never ending memories, I have not lost.   In a thousand different ways, never will I forget. Forever missed and always loved.  Memories I hold on

To Love ...Is to share the good and the bad,the joy and the sorrow, sad days and the glad;To Love ...Is to give again,to please and to pamper, such joy it will bring; To Love ...is to forgivethe large and the small, instead of recall; To Love ...Is to lose something precious and dear, yet gracefully give it up without even a tear. Note: This poem was written and submitted for publication in a small local newsletter by Katy with...

I prayed to the heavens and God above and asked Him to send me someone to love; I prayed for someone with love to share; a man not afraid to honestly care;I prayed for someone to love faithfully, for our time on earth and infinitely;I placed my dreams within God's hands; In the form of a prayer for my ideal man;  I've always wanted a love pure and true; I found it the day God sent me you.

Can I steal away with you into the quiet night? Make love with sweet abandon till dawn's early morning light? Can we hold each other close, forget the world outside?Knowing one unto the other, having nothing left to hide? Can I tell you, darling, that my love for you is true? Will you finally share with me that you love me, too?

I don't know what it is that sets you apart; I knew you were special right from the start; You touched a place within my heart; That had been sleeping for many a year; We always share what's on our mind; The exact same thing, at the same time; Our hearts seem to beat to the same rhyme;Which brings about a joyful tear; I know deep inside Who brought you to me; He knew all along how amazing we'd be; Together as a couple just...

In Search of Another

Who will regard the Homeless?

That person on the street is someone's relative.[Dedicated to both the caring and the homeless.]In his place on a quiet block – There lived a very simple man. His walk like steps to music, He always had a Master plan.*He thought of others constantly, And how each lived their life. His kindness never overlooked, As he helped a hundred souls in strife.*So many tired and all alone – On corners and in alleys. He never asked t...

Of Love and Peristalsis

A man recalls the incredible night when mutual love was released.

Silently we touched in bed.I offered you my shoulder and you laid down your head.I celebrated the smell of your skin and your hair.I thanked god Himself that you were there! And then for the first time it became quite clear.I realized what a treasure you were, my dear.I knew because of what you did and did not do.And I knew that I was totally in love with you. What soon unfolded was a magical eventthat was profound yet inno...

My Best Friend

The gift of friendship is the most wonderful gift

Your friendship has give me the confidence to share, My worst and my best and still you care. You see me for who and what I am, really, You accept and support and love freely. You take what is offered and ask nothing more, For me your friendship is wonderful, not a chore. I don’t have to smile if I feel like crying I don’t have to work at it if I don’t feel like trying. You always appear when I need you most, Your spirit...

Speaking Poetry

We all speak poetry when we share intense feelings with others or with ourselves

It’s not your words but the cry behind your voice when you sit across from me, your tea cup gripped and I see your eyes are moist as your knuckle wipes away one tear. Your heart betrays you as you speak, just saying over tea what happened yesterday that rippled through your nerves, brought blood to your face, thumped there by what you saw or heard and how you could not wait to speak to me or anyone who would listen for mo...

Is Sharing Snacks Really X-rated?

It’s not my fault if YOU have a dirty mind!

Is it really all that kinky if I offer you my Twinkie and suggest that you could eat it just for fun? If I promise not to trickle when I hand you my big pickle will you share it or just quickly turn and run? I know you’d find it icky if I said your fig was sticky since you got it wet and left it in the heat. And you’d punch me in the chest if I reached out and grabbed your breast so I could get a small taste of your chick...
