Once in a blue moon,
I glimpse a special soul,
Reflections of myself,
A sense of being home.
Once in a blue moon,
Dancing in the moonlight,
Rapture, adoration,
Imaginary love.
Once in a blue moon,
Dreaming of being one,
Wishes, dreams, magic,
Set sail across the sea.
Once in a blue moon,
Grasping, yet un-reaching,
To touch, to see, to feel,
Two hearts beat together.
Once in a blue moon
Bitter, Heartsick, Weeping,
A heart stolen away,
Unrequited love breaks.
Once in a blue moon,
Where dreams become the day,
Where fears sink below waves,
They become lost to me.
Once in a blue moon,
Our lips will join in joy,
In song, in laughter, love
Will chase the pain away.
Once in a blue moon,
There will be no "Not now...";
There will be you and me,
And a kiss in promise.
Many thanks to my lil lassie friend for her help with this poem.
