Bingo-Lingo
“ Come-on-now-ladees-n-gents, one-or-two-more-players-before-we-start. Up-down-side-to-side-corner-to-corner-your-four-corners. Slope-to-the-left, slope-to-the-right. Take-a-seat, rest-your-feet, and-have-a-game-of-Bingo!”
Toddlers in tow, holding hands,
hours to kill, fairground bound.
Beach to splash, gulls will cry,
chips on knees, cherry pops.
Swing and slide, 'Venture Park,
“ingo, Dad,” Bingo calls.
Hands held tight, enter ground,
sirens call, sing-song chant.
“ Come-on-now-all-you-ladees-n-gents, one-or-two-more-players-before-we-start. Up-down-side-to-side-corner-to-corner-your-four-corners. Slope-to-the-left, slope-to-the-right, take-a-seat-rest-your-feet-and-have-a-game-of-Bingo!”
Chanted words and paltry prizes,
bingo boards enameled slots.
Bleached-blonde-caller, endless-chewer,
bored-young-floosie. More punters please?

Empty seats, sporadic players,
kids excited, eyes look down.
Numbers called, play for treasure.
Kelly's eye, number count.
Blind nine-o, kids eyes shining,
learning habits, from my knees.
Homeward laden, endless chatter.
Empty pockets, treasures bought .
Joy received, mission accomplished.
