Snow is drifting lazily down
Caressing branches, gathering slowly
Standing by the window,
Cup of cocoa in my hands
I hear the gentle stirring
A quiet giggle filters down the stairs
I watch the snow drift into small piles
And look forward to the time to come
Her head pops round the corner
"Snow, Mama!" her giggle rebounds
I laugh and gather up her coat
Pulling gloves and boots on
A kiss and snowfall scatters
As she romps and dances around
Brilliant smiles, echoing giggled
Snow flurries flying during play
Endless time spent playing
Until frozen smiles and laughter
Guide us back inside
Boots stomping, coats hung
She giggles at the table
Blowing on her cocoa and smiling
I turn with a warm heart,
And stare outside at the yard
At the lopsided snowman
And snow angels, made with laughter and love.
