I've been writing since 2006, when I started doing so to mentally escape the horrors of an abusive marriage. At first, it was some silly little crime novel inspired by Stephen King and James Patterson, and then it moved on to poetry as the way to vent my turbulent emotions.
I began writing poetry in 1999, and was actually nominated for the Heart of Fire trophy in 2001 by a poem I wrote under my real name, entitled "Grace". I didn't win, though I was a Top 10 finalist, and received Honorable Mention, and a place in their 2001 Anthology.
I write mostly anything, though I prefer to keep my stories on the edge; thrillers, science fiction, fantasy and the supernatural.
I’m a proud single mom who’s been accused of being an elitist snob, and I guess in some ways, they’re right: I have personal standards and high expectations from people, especially fellow writers.
It takes a special kind of crazy to be my friend!
Interests Music, writing, art, computers, music, the outdoors, family activities, music, fishing, mudding, dancing and um ... Did I say music?
Favorite Books Tough! Really, it is. My top life-changers would be Tommyknockers and The Velveteen Rabbit.
Favorite Authors Stephen King, CS Lewis, Dean Koontz, Laurell K Hamilton, Tami Hoag, Linda Howard, James Patterson, Mo Hayder, and a myriad of other talented writers.
Favorite Movies Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, Salem's Lot (notice a trend?) Any old horror flick from the 80s, and classics like From A Clockwork Orange, Rocky Horror Picture Show. Adult comedies like Galaxy Quest and Super Troopers. Hmm.
Favorite Music Rock, classic and southern. R&B, some hip-hop. NOT rap. Country, big band, ALL kinds of jazz. If I don't have music of some kind going, I'm dead, I tell ya.
Prologue For millenia, the human world had no knowledge of the portals and the other worlds that they led to. Dimensions so vast in their differing realities that a balance had to be put into place to ensure that the darker being of each world wouldn’t try to escape and take over the other planes. Elven races would have been lost; their customs and legends overthrown by Dark Angels from another realm. The ogres in their s...
