When you go to sleep
Just remember me
Close your eyes
Rest easy
When you go to sleep
Be sure to dream
Meet Granny there
She will protect you
Through the night
Playing games and holding
You tight
Let her pray for you, keep dreaming
Your dreams will lead you back to my
Loving arms in the morning light
When you awake, I will
Still be watching over you
With God’s help
We will keep you safe
When you go to sleep
Just remember me
Close your eyes
Rest easy.

Poetry allows me to vent my emotions and feelings in a healthy, positive way. I write to release stress. “Rest Easy” was written for my two- year old daughter, after we found out she developed cardiomyopathy after having her immunizations. I love you, Emaleigh. It will be okay, Momma loves you with all her heart.
