One barefoot unicorn
His name is Pete
He walks through the forest
With no shoes on his feet
His daddy gave him his shoes
To wear so Pete could run
But see, they were too big
So Pete could not have any fun
There was a pretty Fairy
She had fair hair and silk wings
Her name was Fairy Starlight
She had glitter and magic things
She saw Pete in the forest
He was wondering what to do
She conjured up a spell so Pete
Could wish for some new shoes
She tapped her magic wand three times
And said some fairy things
She looked over at Pete and saw
He had some big strong wings!
Starlight looked at Pete wide eyed
And wondered what went wrong
Pete looked at his new wings and said
“I wanted these all along!
I won’t need shoes on my bare feet
I’ll be able to fly
Above the highest tree tops and
Almost up to the sky”
He smiled at Starlight and thanked her
With a kiss upon her hand
He took a big breath and flapped his wings,
When he flew he looked so grand!
Pete flew above the forest
He was proud of his new wings
Now he could have a lot of fun
Flying over everything!
