Children are so excited for Christmas Day
The countdown has officially started
Santa will be embarking on his sleigh
The children hope Santa is bighearted
Are they on the naughty or nice list
They’re hoping they have made the cut
The older Children wonder if he exists
This makes them anxious in their guts
They’re acting all sweet and nice
Listening to what their parents say
Hoping their wants are not too overpriced
Being really good trying to obey
Will it be a new X-box
Or perhaps and American doll
Hoping Santa won’t give socks
Or be part of a recall
The waiting is the hardest part
So much time in between
No tears or falling apart
Thankfully my children are teens
This year there’s a new computer
And lots of hot video games
My daughter wants this sooner
My son is still giving me the names
Christmas is really not about material things
It’s about the birth in the nativity
The visit from the three kings
A beautiful religious festivity
We must keep Christ in Christmas Day
It’s his birthday that we celebrate
A baby born in a manger on the hay
On this very important date
