Quite how I do it, I don’t know,
but I do. I block out and live with,
the heavy metal.
I block out quite a lot:
my own typing, when I’m talking
(face to face) to someone;
my own thoughts when I don’t want them.
There is so much we, as humans, block out,
without really realising it.
Do we even realise what a feat it is?
Do we realise how automatic we’ve become?
We fear cyborgs and computers taking over,
but do we realise that we are becoming them?
We are becoming what we fear.
Do we realise? Do we care?
Is oblivion always a good thing?
I ask those questions, only because nobody else will.
Are we still human?
but I do. I block out and live with,
the heavy metal.
