Jonathan Carson was a young doctor, one of the partners at the hospital in the middle of town. He had lost his parents at the age of 23 and lived alone in a double bedroom apartment. Every day, he would finish all his household chores before heading to the hospital for his duty. On this particular day, as he arrived at the hospital, he was met with a chaotic scene at the entrance.
Ambulances were rushing in one after the other, carrying injured and wounded people. Jonathan immediately sprang into action, instructing the nurses to assist the patients. Among the injured was a woman, about 50 years old, with a severe head injury. Without wasting a moment, Jonathan grabbed a stretcher and carried her to the operating theatre. He checked her pulse and found it to be weak but present. He knew he had to act fast. He began with a Defibrillation, but the woman did not respond.
Jonathan's heart raced as he shouted, "Come on, don't give up!"
He gave her a shock again and tried to pump oxygen into her lungs. Still, she showed no signs of improvement. Jonathan didn't give up. He did CPR and gave her another shock. Finally, the woman gasped for air and opened her eyes. She looked at Jonathan with tears in her eyes and closed them again.
Jonathan breathed a sigh of relief and smiled. He went out and asked the nurse, "What happened? Was there a major accident nearby?"
The nurse replied, "Yes, Doctor, a bus accident on the highway. That's why so many injured people are here."
Jonathan prayed for the safety of all the patients and went back to his regular duties. However, the image of the woman's face kept popping into his mind. He couldn't shake off the feeling that there was something special about her. As the day went on, Jonathan couldn't help but feel drawn to the woman. He decided to check on her after his shift was over. At the time he saw her through the ICU glass door, he got something tricky and he thought her face was very familiar to him.
Jonathan's life as a doctor was about to take an unexpected turn, and he was ready for the adventure of a lifetime.
