Entering the 'Dead Zone' after 24 hours. Find I'd be talking to myself. Won't even stop for a coffee and it's no good putting the kettle on if nobody's here. SAD!

Thank you, Jeff, for keeping it alive. Sad thing about being top author is (apart from yourself) there is very little prose around. BTW I envy your 60 degrees. Spring flowers are showing but the season they represent has not shown yet. I'm dying for the chance to walk out in the sunshine.

Hot chocolate and any cookies that Jeff may have missed.

I wish you would stop apologise for your misdemeanours, Jeff. (Nobody is perfect--especially supporters of the Mets) Sara is immune from criticism because of her tremendous shortbread flowers (I'll just snag a couple to savour with a hot chocolate) Yum, do not disturb.

(Sorry about that, I'm getting old, you know)

Drink can dull the mind

Gillian, I came upon your 'learning to fly' memoir disgustingly late and was entranced by the memories it brought back. Full comment on story page. Thanks for the memory--they aren't so easy to catch these days. Enjoy your break!

The final chapter of 'THE HIGH AND --etc is now on show.

Yes, sorry to hear about your dog, Jimmy, Sara. Pets can be such wonderful companions but it is such a wrench when they have to pass over, especially if you've witnessed them through that period of pain which prompted your hard decision.

Final chapter of the saga should be showing in the next 24 hours. Bravo to Verbal for keeping pace with it. Now everbody else has sixteen chapters to get through. Even as I write I see that verification was forthcoming, but a few undetected error will cause delay.

Hot chocolate would be a suitable way to drink a farewell toast to Jimmy!
