Of course not! Why would you be?

Do you like coffee?

I love coffee!

What are your plans for the weekend?

I collect small (mainly) wooden boxes. This is my collection so far:

None of them have any great value (I only pay pennies for them after all!) but I just like them, which is as good a reason as any for collecting them...

Those are lovely, Andy.

My daughter collects music boxes, and her china hutch looks a lot like your bookcase.
Hi, Margot.

I think of us as friends already, but to make it official I've sent you a friend request.
Oh, this is going to sound weird, but here goes...

I collect Starbucks cards. It all started with this one, which I thought was too cute to throw out:

Pretty soon, my family found out that I had kept a zero-balance card and decided I must be a collector, so they started looking for unique cards to give me. I have about three dozen cards now.

I am not 100% sure, but I believe if you delete your account, your votes go away. If you only deactivate your account, your votes remain. I will check with the senior staff and see if that is right.

That is correct, but the number of lost votes sometimes seems to outpace the number of deleted accounts. I know my pieces have lost several votes at a time on a few different occasions.

Now that sounds like a Pacific NW dinner ;)

Yup. It's just one of the reasons I love living here.

Since we're into impossible, how about one of Hemingway's favorite in Havana?

What would we eat and drink?

Excellent choice! As for what we'll be eating, I'll go for fresh mahi-mahi, grilled and served with a mango salsa, accompanied by rice and beans. And to drink — a mojito!

What are you likely to really be doing for lunch tomorrow?
Quote by gypsy
Having lunch with my sisters, which is geographically impossible, so not going to happen.

Same question, what would you be doing tomorrow, if you could choose?

Having lunch with you, naturally, which is just as geographically impossible.

Where would we have lunch, if we could have lunch together?
Bolivia brings to mind Mrs. Watson, the long-term substitute we had in fifth grade when our usual teacher was out for surgery. We did a lot of geography units during that time, including a big one on South America, and I recall having to write a paper about Bolivia.

Attribution that interrupts a dialogue sentence is treated as a non-essential clause, and so is set off by commas.

That's brilliant and proved very inspiring smile

Glad to hear it!
Attribution that interrupts a dialogue sentence is treated as a non-essential clause, and so is set off by commas.
The correct punctuation of your examples is as follows:

"Where is it?" he asked excitedly. (The pronoun remains lowercase after a question mark or exclamation mark because the dialogue tag is part of the same sentence. You could use a comma instead of the question mark.)

"It's about time," he exclaimed giddily. (The comma goes inside the quotation marks.)

and

"It's about time," he said giddily, "that we head out." (This was spot on. )

I don't claim to be an expert on many things, but punctuation is one subject I've mastered.
With drops of liquid death
She'll finally meet her peace
Or at least she would have
Had you not summoned the police

EDIT: I'm also suggesting to do away with the current system of mod voting and front page lists.. mods would only monitor story appropriateness and not be responsible to vote or recommend..

This comment puzzled me for the longest time, but I haven't had a chance to get back to it until now.

Moderators DON'T select the top authors or story/poem picks you see on the front page sidebars. Those are calculated based on total votes and average score. It's all done by the system — no mod input whatsoever.

Sorry Maggie.. I was referring to the subjective "thumbs up" recommended read and Editor's Choice connotations that in my opinion are unfair to the other writers, as well as the restricted voting in contests.

Oh, gotcha. Well, I don't have a problem with those (and wouldn't even if I weren't a mod), but I do think recommended reads should name the mod who gave the award. EPs are a group decision, but RRs are individual.

My favorite teacher taught a split class, 4th and 5th grade, and I was lucky enough to have her both years. She was a smart, witty, kind woman — but she didn't put up with any nonsense in her class. Consequently, she was the least favorite teacher of many of my classmates.
