Breakfast first. We have taught our daughters that frenzied, undisciplined behavior is unacceptable in the house. It's hard with a five-year-old and twin three-year-olds, but we try to slow them down and teach them to enjoy the journey and not hurry to the destination. Believe it is a good way to approach all things in life.

Fresh-baked or store-bought pies for Christmas?

Crackers.

Roast or Spiral Ham for the Christmas feast?

(We have Turkey for Thanksgiving, which for us in the U.S., kicks off the holiday season.)

Like both, but croissant is tastier, IMHO.

Bagel, plain or flavored cream cheese?

Christmas, something different. Either Spiral Ham or Roast Beef. Turkey, in the U.S., is for our Thanksgiving.

Canned or Homemade Cranberry Sauce?

Christmas. Much more joyful and positive.

Going to a relative/friend for Christmas or host the ?dinner

Living in Virginia, the Civil War has a huge presence, both in the past and the present. So Civil War.

Museum of Natural History or Museum of Technology?

Travel. West Virginia in the Appalachian Mountains or the Blue Ridge.

Strip down when too warm or bundle up when too cold?

We clear our own snow. It's a good cardio workout and an opportunity for the girls to play in it too.

Romantic date. Leaf peeking in the fall or ice skating in the winter?

Yes. True stories are better IMHO. Even if embellished. Basis lends to authenticity.
