I've read the first three competition stories. All of them are excellently written and well worth the time to read. All draw your emotions out. All three have caused me to reevaluate my own story and pause on its submission. Thank you all you have written and entered the competition. I hope to join you soon.

Being a math and science major (as well studying law), I a descriptive, detail-oriented writer.

Urban or Rural for story setting?

Realistic fiction for sure. Stories about spirits, the supernatural, etc., are really hard for me.

Longer, more detailed stories with character development or shorter stories where the protagonist isn't as well defined?

In that dilemma right now. Started on the current comp. Found out it was going to be way to long for a 1000 word limit comp. Started to rewrite it. Read the first two stories of the comp. Realized mine was to tame (or lame). Now trying to come up with something for it. Usually, want to get it out of the way. Still hope to in the next day or two.

Write stories based on truth (or fact) or write totally fictional stories with no regard for accuracy or fact?

Sundae. With nuts. Chocolate or Carmel syrup with vanilla ice cream. Cherry on top, of course, with whipping cream too.

Chocolate or Strawberry milkshake?

Got carried away on the word count and had to hack a bunch of words.

I know where you're coming from. I too got carried away and had to restructure my story. Hope to get it ready for submission tomorrow.

Depends on trip and destination. For just scenic driving, a sedan is much more comfortable. But if you're getting off the road, or off improved highways, then an SUV. Same for camping or similar. SUV. But generally, sedan is much more comfortable and you can enjoy the trip better and longer.

Ice cream in a cone or in a bowl?

Hamburgers. I'm a beef girl. Hot dogs are good too, though.

Crowded, boisterous beach on the ocean or quiet, serene beach on a lake?

Woohoo! Fun comp, Molly! worship :worship:

Already have the idea floating around in my head.

Smaller, more intimate setting. I absolutely hate crowds and make every effort to avoid them.

Hot and humid or cold and blustery?

Either is good, I love beets. But if had to choose, prefer pickled.

Corn on the cob or loose corn.

Bake a dessert. I'm always a fan of home cooking, whether I'm doing it myself or at a diner or a mom-and-pop restaurant.

Audio book or read a book?

Hosting a party is more work that most people think it is. Plus you have an obligation to see it through regardless. Attendance requires your presence, but how long is up to you. So attend; easier to extricate yourself if the party begins to sour.

Skiing the Austrian Alps or the Colorado Rockies?

Walk in the woods. Love sounds of nature and the peace and quiet without the crowds at the beach. Plus, not a sun worshipper.

Classroom, in-person or virtual, on-line college (or other) class?

Tried robotic. Not as efficient as they make it out to be. Keep bouncing around and I still had to vacuum afterwards. Not worth the expense IMHO.

Dresses - midi or maxi during summer?

Fries with malt vinegar ((like those you get at 5 Guys)

Beach resort or mountain resort?

I love cheesecake of any time even though I know it isn't good for mee. But baked, New York style would be better IMHO.

Hamburger or Hot Dog at a sports event?

I hate news articles (or broadcasts). Specially, I hate how I get 2 minutes of news and 10 minutes of their commentary. I can think and evaluate news myself. So, science/nature article which befits my undergraduate degrees - mathematics/physics double major.

Horror or Romace genre?

Team! Winter sports especially, Hockey (Washington Capitals, 2018 Stanley Cup Champions). Do like ice skating and sking too.

Gourmet meal or more simple, down-to-earth fare?

Don't see the allure of Las Vegas. But if I went, it would be for a show as neither my husband or I are gambler's.

We'd both rather go to Reno and Lake Tahoe though.

Take your time on Route 66 or speed to your destination on the Interstates?

(Route 66 is on our motorcycle bucket list but the kids are too young right now .)

Tough choice, but would lean to comedy. Not a fan of drama; in real life or in make believe.

Beach vacation or resort vacation (like Disney World)?
