Footage of Wembley Stadium’s 1st ever concert, “The London Rock and Roll Show” Featuring Chuck Berry From 1972 — Video
https://forgottenguitar.com/2016/05/11/footage-of-wembley-stadiums-1st-ever-concert-the-london-rock-and-roll-show-featuring-chuck-berry-from-1972-video/

Interesting show, and it just gets better and better, and it does include legends like Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Jerry Lee Lewis...all three of whom I have seen in concert btw...as well as some not so legendary acts...like Screaming Lord Such, for instance...it also includes Little Richard Penniman, and Bill Haley & The Comets and others...and I'm told it's on DVD as well...

One of my poems here is currently on display over in Scotland...as part of the The Stewartry Book Festival which actually just finished up, it ran from April 14 to 17 this year...here's their website...

BIG LIT 2016 14 - 17 APRIL
http://www.biglit.org/

And here's their Facebook page...

Big Lit Organization
https://www.facebook.com/BigLitFestival/

Anyway, earlier this year they had a submission call for short poems that got posted in various places on the internet...it's something they've been doing the last few years apparently...this is how it read...

The BIG LIT Weekend
Call for short poems: BIG LIT The Stewartry Book Festival April 14 -17 2016
Once again I’d be very grateful for short poems of any kind (published or unpublished) to be displayed in High Street windows over BIG LIT weekend. Send in Palatino 12 point please and your name at the bottom + acknowledgements for published ones. ASAP would be good but no later than March 14th. The poems made the High Street look wonderful last year, are often left up long after the event and attract punters to The Festival. In fact have taken some of last year’s down today. Thanks so much.
Please send to Chik Duncan who has kindly agreed to collate the poems while I am strutting my stuff in India.
Best wishes,
Chrys Salt.

I sent them my poem "Alone Again"...which happens to be on this fine site, as some here may be aware...here's my poem again...and yes, it is indeed a short poem...

Alone Again

As the setting sun denies its light,
And the darkened sky cloaks the night,
As the full moon castes its gentle beams,
I'll be alone again, with my dreams,
And if my dreams shall come true,
I'll be alone again, holding you.

10-08-10.

I had found out a few weeks back that it got accepted...not sure if any got rejected actually, but I did get this e-mail message today as well...I do think it's pretty cool stuff having your work on display half way around the globe...

to Chik, Chrys
Dear All

First, apologies for the delay in contacting you. As some of you know, I spent most of February in hospital and then had to go back in for another week in March. I'm getting back on my feet now but it took me quite a while to catch up with things.

Thank you for submitting your work to the Big Lit Windows project. I can confirm that we did receive your poems and although I can't say exactly where in the town each poem is to be found (we got more than 200 poems in total), I can tell you that we really appreciate your contribution to brightening up the town during the festival.

It was a huge success with hundreds of folk in the town, attending the various events and sometimes taking the opportunity to read their own work at the open spots offered by the Southlight launch and WagTongues pop up bookshop. Not forgetting the sing-song-session in the Masonic Arms on Thursday evening.

Thank you again.

The carnival is over. Roll on next year.

Chik

PS I'm attaching a photo of the Bakehouse front door to give you an idea of what your poems would have looked like in windows all around Gatehouse.

Alrighty now...I see that the Society of Classical Poets Journal 2016 is out as of today, and I do believe I have three poems in this one myself, and I know some other friends are included as well...and the Society itself is free to join, and there is indeed some useful stuff on their website and Facebook page...check it out my friends...

2016 Journal Published
http://classicalpoets.org/2016-journal-published/

The three poems I have in this one are "Political Banter" which is rather timely..."Arrested By The Grammar Police" and "When A Child Dies, The Whole World Cries"...all of which can be found right here on Stories Space, which leads me to another point. The Society doesn't pay anything, but they do accept previously published material, and as of this year they are also recognized by Poets & Writers Magazine as a legitimate publishing credit, which is always good for bragging rights...here's their P&W listing btw...

Society of Classical Poets Journal
http://www.pw.org/literary_magazines/society_of_classical_poets_journal

I just want to note, that before you go sending them all your poems here on Stories Space...they only accept rhyming poetry, in general...and they only accept poems with certain themes...but humor and politics are always welcome...and if you can combine the two, so much the better...check the site for more details...and Good Luck my friends...

Rest in Peace
Peaceful times ahead at Stories Space,
A calmer, more pleasant place,
No more disruptions in the forum,
From people who have no decorum,
It’s enough to put a smile on my face.

I've been quoted on a vodka site...how cool is that?

The first line of one of my poems has been used on a vodka brand website...which I think is pretty darn cool btw...here's the link...

Gigi Ultra-Premium Vodka
http://gigivodka.com/en/home.html

And it's a Polish vodka too, been around since 2011, but not yet distributed worldwide. They just created the new website last month, and are set to launch in the U.S. soon...really cool stuff...I have this picture as my new Facebook timeline photo...lol...I'm always amazed by all this stuff...

And those words are the first lines of a poem I wrote that is indeed found here on Stories Space...

The Dirty Martini
http://www.storiesspace.com/stories/poetry/the-dirty-martini.aspx

And yeah, I'm quoted on their account as well...

And they also have a Facebook page, of course...

GIGI Ultra-Premium Vodka
https://www.facebook.com/gigivodkaofficial/?fref=ts

I did a bit of research...the vodka is made in Poland, though it seems to be headquartered in Spain...most of their business at the moment seems to be in Europe...and there are some video ads, and party footage based in Europe, such as this one...

As of right now, the vodka is not distributed here in the U.S...but according to their posts, that should be changing soon...

Anyway...it will be interesting, and I'm interested in trying it out certainly...I don't want my words associated with an inferior vodka by any means...on another note, if they are using my words to sell their product, it would only seem reasonable that I should get a slice of the action...I really don't ask much, but a couple of cases per year shouldn't be unreasonable, now should it?
Rest in Peace
You have a poem about your favorite woman in music? If not, why not write one...anyway, either way, here's a contest that may interest some...not one, but two winners will recieve $25 and publication...not to mention all that fame and bragging rights...
