Thank you to everyone who took the time to enter our Stories Space Drabble Competition. The competition is now officially closed to new entries.

All of the entries were great, was nice to see different ideas from the participation.
Thank you to the SS team, your tireless efforts and dedication are appreciated.
Win, lose, or not, it was fun to be a part of and read each writers work.
A big hurrah to everyone.

I was looking at the entries, to see, if I didn't miss any off them. I found, that there are a few from people, who apparently only joined this site for the sake of the competition.

Though I like their stories, I doesn't feel right, that people only come here for the chance to win some money.

Personally, I see no issue with people joining the site for the sole purpose of entering the competition...they may join for the money, so to speak...and stay for other reasons, like they like what they see...which is fine with me btw...

Most of them won't delete or deactivate their account, which ofcourse is nice for the statistics of the site, but which hardly qualifies as membership of this community. I maintain, that anyone who seriously wantss to become a member, won't be stopped by the fact they can't. enter in a competition right away. The question boils down to what stories space wants:a lot of members or less, but true and active members.

Paul.. I think they must be getting close to picking a winner(s).. so we'll see if it made a difference.. you might have a bigger audience if what you are worried about actually happens.. but I reiterate what I said before.. I read most of the stories and our members kick some literary ass.. the quality of our writers is superb so it won't be a cakewalk for anyone to rush in and grab the golden ring..

I don't care who joins for what. As long as it's not spam.

I have a feeling the winners may have been picked already, and I have a hunch they were all here before the contest was announced, though I'm not sure I'm at liberty to say much at the moment...

If it's any help...I am not one of the winners...so, that answers that question...

If it's any consolation Alan.. all of the contestants are coming to your place for wine and oreos after the awards ceremony..

Hmmm...Oreos aren't looking real good at the moment, though I might have a half a box of Cracker Jack or something laying around...

Let me go check the wine cellar here...yeah, we might be able to make it through alright...

Larry I agree, "I read most of the stories and our members kick some literary ass.." I also read every entry and thought most of the entries were awesome.

Alan, on my way to the party, I will stop and get some beer, as I am not much of a wine drinker. Nice to hear that the awards ceremony is near. You and the other mods deserve a huge round of applause for making Stories Space the wonderful place it is.

No thanks..lmao. That stuff is totally horrid, lmao....and 2 I don't drink anymore.
When I was younger and underage, I did drink those sometimes.

I used to like the big California 2 liter wine coolers from Bartyles and James.
I liked a lot of things.
