If you do, here's a nifty solution.

Not unless the writer is boring to read.

I prefer this to sleep to and find it far more therapeutic for my insomnia...I highly suggest people try it

It was totally, TOTALLY!!!! an April Fool's Day link.

I was not foiled. And books are my key to sleep. They help my brains to stop the everspinning mass of thoughts and find the calmness they need to be able to sleep.
If life seems jolly rotten
there's something you've forgotten
and that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing

from Monty Python's "Life of Brian"

I'm not surprised you weren't fooled.

For the most part, I don't like April 1st day pranks or jokes, but this one really tickled my fancy.

I actually find podcasts, rather than reading, help me fall asleep. I was brought up on stories read at bed time, and later, listening to radio before going to sleep. Podcasts are like radio to me. Falling asleep while hearing voices talking, discussing books, telling stories, is absolutely wonderful.

Hi Gypsy

Its a good thread made me laugh...obviously I listen to Muse and not nursery rhymes to fall a kip too.
I use reading to PUT me to sleep.

I have learned that just 10 to 15 minutes reading is sufficient to rest my brain enough to allow me to fall asleep naturally. It doesn't always work, but it works often enough for me to persist with it. I highly recommend it to anyone who has trouble dropping off...
I only read a book that'll put me to sleep within a few lines if it was boring

No, but then again I've never finished a book that's boring. I have actually loss sleep due to staying up reading a novel that I couldn't put down

Never fall asleep with a good book. TV puts me to sleep.

I do get tired when its late at night and I start reading in bed. But generally I'm able to put the book down, turn the light off and fall asleep - until one the twins starts crying and needing mom's,attention! LoL
