Poetry cannot express,
It’s just a little thing I do,
But once again I’m using it
To convey my thoughts to you.
 
Simple words cannot come close
To the bond between you and me,
But take one look into my eyes
And surely there you’ll see.

This heart is filled with love for you,
And in between each beat,
It yearns and aches and cannot wait,
To sweep you off your feet. 

I think about you always,
Just wishing you were here,
Because only when I hold you
Do my feelings seem quite clear. 

I stand a little taller,
My happiness shines through.
This world’s a whole lot brighter
And it’s all because of you
