not a sociologist

but more a bigot, all sharp elbows

with a facile voice louder than its weight 

in content should allow

then rails against the entertainment industry

peddling garbage

when his platform or bully pulpit

dishes out a new opiate for the masses

glued to their televisions

daily, ever more unskeptical

with no need for analysis and

no dissent allowed they're

content with poisoned pablum

as long as it's lite and fact-free

so the vessels of their shriveled hearts 

are kept clear of truthful clogging
