"Watch for tortoise" the signboard said,
A flashing yellow light shone out.
The warning was seen up ahead
And the meaning left little doubt.
We felt glad for the sentiment,
That the Parks still carried the light,
And they stayed in their element
Keeping true to the public's right.
Passing through the desert this day
We noted how great was the trust
That they kept in the truest way,
And gladdened our hearts as it must.
Not beautiful to everyone
We viewed so much we could savor.
And when all our travels were done
We had found so much to favor.
Tomorrow will bring a new place
With ecology on display,
And our faith is that we will face
Real honor again there at play.
Traveling far and wide is our wont,
Never knowing what we will find,
The landscapes we always will haunt
As we seek the blessings that bind.
