I see the sparkle of light
At the end of the dark space
I have been travelling through.

The velvet blackness is so easy
so safe
so simple

I look around me and I realize
the light from my spirit which has guided me
has dimmed from the all suffocating darkness

I take a careful step forward
accepting all the consequences that comes along with it
and refusing to let regret take hold

to my surprise
the inky grip on my heart eased
and my light brightened just enough for me to see the next step

I take another step -easier now
safer now
simpler now

I will eventually bathe my soul
in that sparkle of light in the distance
and I will remember the long journey getting there

but for now
I take another step
then another
