Sweet Mother Nature

Mother Nature screams at me.
The wild wind tearing through my hair
blasting in my ears
and stinging my eyes.
Sand blowing high into the air
and sticking to my clothes,
getting in my mouth.
Frogs croaking desperately
leaping from place to place
between the green shrubbery,
trying to find cover.
The leaves of tall,
wise trees
shivering from the wind.
Little bushes nearly being uprooted
by the wind's brutal beating.
Things rolling around the grounds,
thrown by the wind.
Twigs snapping and flying
hitting against my exposed, fragile body.
Ancient, heavy logs
barreling over the hills,
narrowly missing me.
The ocean's water churning,
spitting and spraying.
The dark clouds hanging low,
splitting open,
releasing a majestic downpour.
Quickly soaking me to the bone.
The shower of raindrops,
being blown horizontal,
whipping the trees
and animals
straight on.
Before the onslaught
suddenly stops.
The intimidating blackness
lifting.
The wind slowing
to a gentle breeze,
that seems to almost caress my raw skin.
The sun smiling, warming my wet body.
Reflecting beautifully
over the calm waters of the ocean.
My face flushing a light pink,
I'm pleasantly warm.
But the rain is quick to evaporate.
The salty ocean teasing,
as my tongue grows dry
and my hair begins to stick to my skin.
Perspiration covering my body
as the sun overheats me.
Licking my dry lips
with a dry tongue.
How sweet of Mother Nature, I think,
when I see a cloud slowly cross the sky,
and cover the menacing sun.
