There is a force out there both benevolent and malicious
It forces us to push ourselves past our mental and physical limits
It strikes when it is least expected
It has killed probably as many as it has saved
It is a force powerful enough to make us defy our most primal self-preserving nature.
It freezes and ignites the heart all at once
But in the end, it cannot have both
It invades your mind, your sleep, your breath
Eyes will widen, and chests will beat hard
Tears will fall, and lips will meet
This force is a danger to all around
A danger we must play with
Because we have no choice
When it comes knocking
Such benevolence, such malice
Such beauty, such fear
The lure of death and life
The lore of the gods above and below
Such a force…
Do you know what it’s called?
Love.
