We circle like
We’re packing heat
Slow movement in
Then quick retreat
Not knowing if we need to draw
Will there be peace or all out war?
We forward feint
Uneasy laugh
Then back away
But don’t relax
I look at you
You look at me
Not knowing what the other sees
You could be friend
I could be foe
Continuing our strange limbo
Yet neither makes the choice to flee
And so we circle, endlessly.
