She smiled around him, Laughed.

He stood for helping,

happiness,

safety,

friendship...

trust,

and around him,

she was happy, he was the only one

who saw her smile,

or heard her laugh,

and it was something special,

to her, and to him, at least,

he hoped so.

It was proved to him, one day,

she blushed, she giggled, she said,

I like you,

in that innocent way many kids do.

40 years later,

She smiles around him,

Laughs,

and he's still the only one

who gets to see 

such a special something.
