A fresh dusting of snow as I awake this morning.
I hate winter, really I do, let this be your warning.
Seeing the ground covered with white purity.
Me now full, filled, brimming with security.
Knowing that nature is cleansing the earth.
Never leaves my thoughts lacking dearth.
Green of the grass poking through the white.
Warms my heart, though the coldness I spite.
She has a plan and she makes it very clear.
Always doing what needs done. "Argg" I sneer.
Making the earth and universe awake and see.
Control is hers, not ours, laughing yes, it be.
Beauty so many ways she spreads for our view.
Time on her side, not in a hurry, she will renew.
Taking our abuse in stride, making things work.
Never one to lay down, never one to tire or shirk.
Though my fingers burn from the cold as I shovel.
Warmth fills my soul, nature she's a unique puzzle.
