Yelling and screaming flooding my ears.
A slap across the face.
But it seems like nobody really cares
That their son is awake.
It's three am but the thief doesn't care.
He's out for blood and more.
The youthful body lies asleep in bed.
The only motion is breathing.
Crossing the street on the empty streets.
A drag race begins only a few blocks away.
Zero to sixty plus by the second stop-light.
A child stumbles into the road.
Lies sprouted to cover it up.
Evidence says otherwise.
He doesn't want to lose her again,
But things are different this time.
Trying to forget a past mistake.
Pretending it didn't happen.
Doing the wrong thing,
Because we say we can.
A pure life with innocence abound.
A desire dark and venomous.
A question that should never have been uttered.
A child with innocence stolen.
There's no second option.
There's no running away.
Here we must face every consequence.
Here, acceptance is the only way.
