I rode alone yet I was not alone
Riding with ghosts
Childhood memories wandering
The park, though today
Not memories of my past but
Ones of a long ago war
I think I am walking alone yet I am not
Followed by ghosts
From a long ago past
Stopping to listen to the small
Forest feel the breeze
I hear voices and commotion in the trees
Open my eyes no one around
Yet still hearing voices
All around
This park is of a Hallowed ground
One of many that helped
Build this great land
The names of these ghosts
Many are long gone
Some never known
Yet today they walk with me
Not knowing I am there
Yet I close my eyes
I know they are there
Today I ride and I walk with ghosts
Soldiers along this small piece of
Hallowed ground
