"Picture of a Monarch"

Fluttering gently, all around

Landing right in front of me, not making a sound

This beauty is amazing. It has so much power.

I stop in my tracks, to view a Monarch on a flower.

Wings of bright orange. Petals of bright pink

This sure beats any poster at the mall, I think.

But the sight is so ephemeral. I know it won't last.

So I run in to get my camera. I have to be fast!

Fragile and velvety. Don't fly away...

Please Mr. Butterfly,you really must stay.

Your brilliance belongs in a magazine

Colors so vivid, they truly must be seen.

Nature's masterpiece...is there anything so devine?

I need to capture it, so it can be mine.
