When I think about what we'd have in store if we took our friendship and built on one step more;

The possibilities are endless of what you and I could be,
together as a couple, companions, faithfully;

We'd begin with understanding, gentle patience, tender care;
Take it day by day and let it grow from there;

We'd learn about each other, of our faults and fine points, too;
being fair and open minded if we had different points of view;

All this would make us closer with the passing of each day;
And who's to say if friendship would turn to love along the way.
