Oh my love
My Sisyphus
Content to struggle up the crag
To feel the ache of limbs
Limbs extended in one effort
Toward an endless goal
Such bliss
To stand at attention
Wind smoothing the wildness of your hair
Having sown your oats righteously so
Knowing
Down and up you shall go
My envy reaches out to you
Like the dove you are
Returning
Having found the twig
Oh my Sisyphus
How can I tell you
That I cannot stay
That I cannot be defined
By mountains and valleys
That I cannot wear your ring
That my heart is much too big
Yearning
To feel the fullness of the sun upon
My upturned face
I live from feeling to feeling
Eating them whole
Savoring the quickness of their passing
Because
They die easily when facing reality
Oh my love
My dear Sisyphus
How do I explain
That your rock is too heavy
A burden to my winged arms
Or the slick fins of my aquatic back
I joined the fullness of you
Felt your joy
Endured your pain
But, only from a distance
With no desire
To watch the sun fade
With your descent
