Through the sunlit window I watch
As the melting ice drips and falls.
They heavily bear their belongings
Down the stairway, through the halls.
Who can deny their palpable fear
As moving day comes once again,
The U-Haul fills to the brim once more
They've tried and failed in vain.
Together, they will share the burden.
Together, they are not uncertain.
The snow and ice will soon disappear,
But the chill of the world will stay near.
