I wonder why we cannot see the light?
We lose the fire and pay an endless cost.
It seems we wander helpless through the night.
Without the torch of knowledge we are lost.
The scientists revise what has been found,
With proofs they lead us home and give new birth
To beauty with the teachings they propound.
With peril do we wave away their worth.
I sense a hatred growing stronger still
For all that science gives to better life,
And if this fear of truth exerts its will
Then we shall lose our lives in all the strife.
So take my simple words for what they say,
I only hope you see a brighter day.
