For Friendship or Love
Pirate saw a little lamb, her fleece as dark as coal
The hat she wore
There in her door
In heart so full of soul
The question stands, to this old man, will lamb enjoy this rhyme
A dove so sweet
That I should meet
A child out of time
In days of old, or so I'm told, I'd bare my heart and soul
For want of lamb
for that I am
To make my life her goal
This flower I see, if it could be, would warm this heart as bold
This girl of mine
Yet out of time
Would love me though I'm old
If you could know, what life would sow, our life would be a wonder
In mine eye
Our time would fly
Would this really be a blunder?
So here I sit, with little wit, wondering what I'd miss
In your soft eyes
No spoken lies
Will life be as a kiss
With pen and ink, that I should think, I write this poem to thee
What you would say
For that, I'd pay
Our life that it should be
