Fear not the heat of the summer sun
Nor the harshness of winter’s icy cold;
Your worldly task is done,
Homeward you are bound,
Your angelic innocence intact:
Fear not the displeasure of the Almighty,
You are beyond all judgement now;
You have no need for eat nor drink;
No need for clothes or shelter:
Neither pain nor ill intent can harm you now.
Fear no more when lightning strikes,
No need to cringe when thunder roars;
Young boys and girls all must,
As all of us, return to dust.
May your slumber be peaceful and secure,
And may we all meet again once more.
Nor the harshness of winter’s icy cold;
Your worldly task is done,
Homeward you are bound,
Your angelic innocence intact:
Fear not the displeasure of the Almighty,
You are beyond all judgement now;
You have no need for eat nor drink;
No need for clothes or shelter:
Neither pain nor ill intent can harm you now.
Fear no more when lightning strikes,
No need to cringe when thunder roars;
Young boys and girls all must,
As all of us, return to dust.
May your slumber be peaceful and secure,
And may we all meet again once more.
