Such joy she brought each time she came..
Now she's gone and I don't feel the same..
What light she gave to my darkened space..
Then left too soon without a trace..
An empty heart and tear filled eyes..
Hide behind this man's wretched disguise..
He thinks of her within darkest night..
A moonlit shadow across his sight..
Was she ever there or was it just magic..
To never really know is so sad and tragic..
And in the end he realized his fear..
That Milee Banerjee was no longer here..

and so true my guesses came today
when she wrote to me
and I heard her say
“Larry dear I miss you so
how have you been
or did you go
back again to the shadows beneath the lamp
finding a dark spot to hide from the damp
the damp spot that circles your eyes
and gives you away
and your 'happy' disguise.”

Yet the scent of her is in the air..
Is there hope? Does he dare?
He takes a step with all his might..
And ventures to the edge of light..
Will she turn and see him there?
And hide with him from harsh light's glare..
In the shadows where none can see..
Hearts and minds can be set free..
