What do you see
When you glance my way
Do you see the woman I was?
Or the one who stands before you today?
The frightened one
Who was always so unsure
If what she was doing
Would work out in the future
Or maybe the strong one
Who has survived everything
That this messed up reality
Ever thought to bring
Perhaps it is the vulnerable me
That sometimes appears
The one who can’t always
Hold back the tears
Now I will tell you
What I can see
In that mirror’s reflection
Looking back at me
I see all of it, every single thing
Molded, shaped, and rolled into one
A scared, uncertain, strong and vulnerable
Friend, Wife, Mother… Woman
