Dear God
Is it too much to ask for companionship in this life
As I walk this path of loneliness you dealt for me
While you look down from above

Someone to hold my hand, kiss my lips
To smile and assure me compassion
To show me the meaning of love
With every beat of my fluttering heart

With your own hands you created this imperfection
This monstrosity I see everyday in the mirror
Eyes that stare back
Hiding pain and fear amongst the insecurity of hope

Sitting amongst the grainy sands of time
As this world swallows me up
So I slip this note in a bottle
And toss it as far as I can see into the ocean wide

In the hope one day it reaches you God
And you hear my words
For my hope is dimming fast
You are my last chance in this world of perfection all around me
