My hand rest between his ribs measuring the rise and fall of his breath
Fingertips trace the contours of his face
Every line put to memory for if its a dream I never want to wake
I lay my head upon his chest
The steady thump of his heart like thunder in the rain
Sheets rustle arms pull me close lips touch mine
A kiss explodes
Graze of his lips racing like lightning through my veins
Blue eyes meet mine and a galaxy of possibilities arise
His embrace grows tighter as if to never to let me go
The feel of his flesh like satin against my own
Legs entwined with mine a starburst in my head
Bodies blend till there is only one
Held and enfolded in this safe haven of bliss
Captured in an old lion's embrace
I awake in the night wondering
For this kind of happiness can only be a dream
But alas it is not, for I feel the curls of his chest silk against my cheek
A downy pillow on which to rest my head
My dream of joy
My quest for happiness
My belief in the impossible
A long road indeed testing my faith
All this I found engulfed in a lover's embrace
