Spring is coming, soon to arrive.
Clocks turned ahead.
It's time.
The birdhouses need to be cleaned.
Nature's neighbors will be
Scouting for their homes.
The bluebird house is moved.
It needs a new place,
A new plan.
Last year sparrows took occupancy,
But unwelcome guests indeed.
Bluebirds are scarce you see.
Trying to help the least of these
We wish to restore the bluebirds
Who are dwindling.
So moving day is today
And the new spot on a fence post
Will be ideal we hope.
And within sighting distance
For the pleasure of observing
And cheering for their return and growth.
Not the only birdhouse, of course.
Another for wrens
Whose tastes in housing location differs.
Moving the box to a site
With more foliage
Away from the crowds.
As the temperature rises and the sun returns
So will the little ones
Seeking the best nest,
The best for the kids to come.
Our work is done.
