I like to walk in the park, for the wondrous things to see.
There are miracles that surround us all, for you to see and me.
I saw me today a caterpillar and wondered by-and-by.
What it would turn into, a moth or a butterfly.
I turned and there was my lake, fed by a cold spring stream.
As a lad I recalled sitting here contemplating a dream.
Over there in the meadow I saw a rose, its petals of a deep red hue.
It bloomed in the clear day's sunlight, under an azure sky of blue.
Oh look! Here comes a Spring shower, with its rainbow across the sky.
A magical, multicolored kaleidoscope, how? I don’t know why.
Of this world, each day I walk, fills my heart with joy.
It’s as if the years have fallen away and once more I am a boy.
I am glad to have shared this rhyme with you, be at peace with who you are.
For life’s joys are like a birthday present, the best gift you’ll get by far.
