to make you smile with words a'few
but must we follow rules and such
or can we write without that crutch.

Pen in hand refreshed anew
I wrote a quatrain just for you.
And so it goes when creative thought
must pull from space a worthy plot.

I ponder how the rules of rhyme
must be in place from time to time.
I wrote a quatrain just for you
because such rules provide the glue.

I thank you for this game of mind
for it helps two souls in life to bind.
For midst all today that I must do
