When we used to date
Strolling along Rizal Park,
Not enough money for a
Date in a fancy restaurant.

Walking hand in hand
Ending by Manila bay,
Looking at the busy pier
Where tanker ships docks.

Taking our usual bench
Only crackers for a snacks,
While watching the waves
With the beautiful sunset.

Suddenly you told me,
"When the time comes,
I'll buy your favorite bag of
Chocolates as my gift."

That promise did come true
Working for months overseas,
A bag of my favorite chocolate
Is always your gift for me.

The Crackers is chocking me.
How happy you made me,
Even if we don't have money
To buy a bottle of water.

Drowning from so much
Happiness of your dream
Weaving with me, for us.
Until we got married.

We still date by the park,
Sitting in the grass as we
Watch children running
Around, you would say

Our children will be running
Like them." You'd laugh while
Telling the imagined story.

Sadly we didn't get lucky to
Have a child you'd go crazy with
Playing, laughing and pinching
Their cheeks till it turns red.
