My Truth is Lonely

My Truth is Lonely. I imagine yours is, too.

Mine can’t be shared; I suspect the same for you.

Truth weighs heavily upon its owner because Truth destroys.

Only fools say “Just tell the Truth. It’s the best thing to do.”

Revealing a Truth always harms someone it seems. Typically Someone I know. Someone I love.

I suspect the same for You.

Is Truth measured by the amount of harm it causes?

Truth’s a secret we hold and withhold. Truth is locked up, shut away. Truth is shackled. Its existence kept by guile and deceit, lest others learn an unshared Truth exists.

A Truth-wealthy person is sought by Social-ists. Those who have no Truths of their own will covet yours for conversation.

Yet if the Truth Be Told, someone will be judged.

And either I or you will be condemned if our Truths escape our control.

So manacle your Truth. Padlock it. Imprison it.

Solitary confinement.

Our Truths must not share the same cell.

My Truth is Lonely. I imagine yours is too.
