Devil Pool
Another sleepless night.
Soaked sheets, empty bottle of pills.
Dark recess of your inner mind.
Your demons call to you.
Drink, drink from the pool.
Quench your thirst.
Go to bent knee, sip till your full.
Look into the blacken pool.
As by magic it clears, you see a young soldier.
You know the face for it is you.
Demons laughing calling names to the surface.
One after another reaching out with broken fingers.
Wicked broken, bleeding, burnt friends of yours.
Your scream choked in your mouth.
Leathery beat of wings overhead.
Your time is now.
To meet the Devil, for your deeds.
Pleading full round eyes.
Screaming no not now give me time.
Your throat dry fear runs thru you.
Soaked sheets, empty pill bottles.
You wake again.
Looking into the mirror.
Feet on the floor.
Another nightmare you tell the empty room.
Standing you hear the laughter from Him.
Leathery wings beat in the distance.
You know the Devil Pool is waiting you.
