Curse the Devil
It has been written a smart man asks but one thing.
When he finds himself in Hades as the Irish saying goes,
Give me the time to get though Hades before the Devil knows.
This is what a smart man wants as death takes him.
But this bent scared warrior is not so smart.
Warriors have been taught of the five rivers of Hades.
Acheron the river of woe.
Cocytus the river of lamentation.
Lethe the river to quench your warriors thirst.
Phlegethon the river of fire.
Styx the nymph of the underworld.
Devil knew with five rivers man's soul would be his.
He would stand at the Cocytus laughing as he cast in souls.
Not since the 40's was there a long line of warriors crossing.
As I stood at the bank of the Acheron, picking up a battered shield.
Made my way across her and the next river Cocytus no sight of Him.
Drinking from the cool sweet waters of Lethe,
my mind clears of my many terrible earthly deeds.
Coming upon Charon ferryman on the Phlegethon.
Seeing my shield he takes this warrior across not a spoken word.
Standing before me and the final river Styx,
Him the Devil with a smile calling me to his side.
Tired I stand my ground my shield ablaze.
