While talking with a new acquaintance, this came up in the conversation.
She told me, "ahh but my dear didn't you know that broken things hold the most beauty in the world, it is our imperfections that make us who we are, me yes I search for love, life, and I see beauty in everything around me. Even myself, took me a long time to see that my dear."
My reply was, "Glad that you have found beauty in everything including yourself.
Something that sometimes I am not able to do, we are all works in progress, broken, I am not sure?
Unique, is the word I would use instead. Bent and dented, paint worn off and the shiny tarnished, but right you are, it adds to the patina, the beauty.
I was born who and what I am, I just need to try to improve, not fix."
Leading to the following (Musing) thank you. You know who you are.
I am unique though not perfect
A bit bent twisted and kinked
Some say broken merchandise
I prefer a work in progress
Ain't broken so don't need fixin'
My DNA set a long time ago
I is who I is can't change that
Just need to learn to accept
To like and love who I am
With all of my flaws and kinks
The shiny is tarnished and dull
New has vanished with age
Patina in the cracks and lines
A splendor only living can achieve
Antiquity adds a great deal of worth
Scarred from time spent breathin'
I would not be me without them
Yup a work not completed
Some finishing touches to refine
I am unique a perfect me
Mind bent twisted and kinked
To some seen as broken goods
Still a functioning piece of work
Bruised and tarnished not shattered
Priceless one of a kind that's me
A twisted bent needin' polish antique
