Death you are all around me

You visit and disappear so suddenly

Why do you come to me

laugh and mock me

Why do you surprise me

and take someone new

From the day we are born

Each day is numbered

You are a part of life

This I know

I made peace with you ages ago

But you still continue to visit and surprise me

Until I have taken my last breath

Know that I am not afraid
